Ukrainian Greek Catholic Bishops elect new members to their Permanent Synod

Ukrainian_Catholic_Synod_2012The Worldwide Synod of Ukrainian Greek Catholic Bishops, meeting in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, elected the new members of their Permanent Synod on Saturday September 15, 2012. Its new members are the Most Reverend Volodymyr Vityshyn, Archbishop and Metropolitan of Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine; the Most Reverend Ken Nowakowski, Bishop of New Westminster, Canada; the Most Reverend Yaroslav Pryriz, Bishop of Drohobych-Sambir, Ukraine; and the Most Reverend Borys Gudziak, newly nominated Exarch of France, Benelux and Switzerland. Synodal Fathers are elected for a five-year period of service on the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Permanent Synod.
